What is a tier 1 solar panel?

If a solar manufacturer is ranked tier 1 it means the analyst who assessed them believes that the manufacturer meets the criteria for the highest tier which includes;

  1. Experience

  2. Financial position

  3. Manufacturing scale

  4. Deployment scale

  5. Durability & quality

  6. Technical Performance

  7. Vertical integration

  8. Insurance and backing

  9. Service and support

In wider terms, tier 1 solar module manufacturers are specified as; having been producing solar panels for 5 years or more, are either publicly listed on a stock exchange or have a strong and stable balance sheet, have fully-automated production and a high degree of vertical integration, invest significantly in marketing their brand, and have a highly regarded reputation within the industry for quality and service.

If a manufacturer does not meet one or more of the above criteria, they are classed as Tier 2 or Tier 3.

By using tier one products Helix Solar is able to bring you solar modules from the top 2% of solar manufacturers, meaning they are built with higher standards. Due to this have the strong potential to last longer and produce abundant solar power.
